Today is something new. I woke up. And I felt lost. Not knowing what the day will hold for me and who I am going to be today. You see, I’m still finding the type of person I am. Not putting a label on it of course. I am me. I change what I like a lot. But Im learning to accept it. So I try to make the most out of each moment I have. Cause life is precious.
In your lifetime, you will meet 100,00 people. Woah. Sometimes it’s hard to get out of bed in the morning. Well imagine meeting 100,000 people. When you meet someone, what is the first thing you notice? Their hair? Maybe they woke up late and didn’t have time to fix their hair the way they normally would, but how would you know that? You just met them. Or maybe you notice the stain on their shirt. “Wow what a mess”. Oops. You have a stain on your shirt don’t you. You see them pull out their brand new iPhone and notice that they were just playing music. So they like music, they wake up late, and have a stain on their shirt. Just with that information you get an idea of what kind of person they are, even though you’ve known them what.. five minutes? Now think about this. They did the same thing to you. Analyze you from head to toe. Let’s hope they didn’t see your dirty pair of chucks from 8th grade and last seasons jeans.. if thats even a thing… You want them to get to know you right? and not assume things based on first impressions. Even though its so easy to do. The person you met? They go to public school, play the guitar, really involved with school activities, even though he’s not athletic.. more the academic type, he grew up with divorced parents and 3 older sisters, and is really in love with some show called Doctor Who. But all this information makes him who he is. And you would never know any of that if you assumed you knew him inside and out after those initial five minutes. People are made of many different factors. Society, culture, relationships, all build us into the people we are. No stereotypes. Just people living life. No one is a cardboard character. People are more than fictional non deep characters in this journey. You have a meaning. You have a purpose. You have things that make you you. Not anyone else. And teens deserve to be able to find who they are. Cause how can you grow if you are not aware what you are dealing with? How would you take care of a pet if you didn’t know what it was? Would you walk a fish on leash and feed it dog food? NO. You learn how you were made to be you. Then you live.
